About The Author
In the 1980's, while most young adults his age were
living life carefree with little direction, Larry Williams was
focused on a career in journalism. After spending some
time in retail sales, he followed the vocation he studied
in college and landed an accounting position at the
Space Division of the Rockwell International
Corporation. It didn't take long for him to be promoted
through the ranks where he would soon be re-writing
accounting procedures and policies that would better
streamline the business practices internally used during
the implementation of the U.S. Space Shuttle Program.
By 1990, Williams had moved to Carson City Nevada where a chance
introduction to a general manager of a radio station changed everything. Though
he never actually applied for the job, he was offered the afternoon position of
hosting a radio show. Like he did at Rockwell, he swiftly re-invented his position
and introduced listeners and colleagues to new ideas that would challenge the
conventional programming.
In addition to starting a successful small business, Williams continued to use his
popularity in radio to ramp up the journalism career he had always wanted. He
began writing for various local and national newspapers and magazines. He soon
gained a reputation for cutting-edge articles that focused on small business
development. This somewhat unintentional mentoring truly endeared Larry
Williams to many small businesses.
Within the community, Williams worked very hard to lend his talents to various
causes and programs. In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Michael Butler
Humanitarian Award by the American Disc Jockey Association, for his
extraordinary efforts in community service. In 2010, he was spotlighted on the E!
Entertainment Television Channel (and other news outlets) for writing the 1991
song "Jaycee Lee" for kidnap victim Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was held in
captivity for eighteen years before her 2009 recovery which gained world wide
attention.
Today, Larry Williams continues to spread a positive message of customer
service and employee development through his book Customer Service A to Z,
his Keynote Presentations and his popular Workshop Training Programs. As he
has done for more than twenty years, he continues to motivate and inspire people
to follow their dreams, increase sales and productivity and establish a framework
of perfection that will improve their life and career.
